Taking these medicines with Azilect can lead to a life threatening condition called serotonin syndrome.
  • Dextromethorphan, a medicine used to treat cough
  • Substances with sympathomimetic activity such as cold and flu oral tablets
  • Nasal drops containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine
  • Clozapine, a medicine used to treat schizophrenia
  • Other medicines used for treating Parkinson’s disease
  • Pain killer Mepiridine (pethidine)
  • Ciprofloxacin
  • Dopamine antagonists, such as antipsychotics or metoclopramide, can reduce the effect of Azilect
